Set from Studio 4/4 @ Q Nightclub w/George FitzGerald

I had a feeling this set was going to be a magical one. Since my Olympus field recorder walked away from my house, I hoped beyond hope that the boys at Q were set up to record. They weren’t. And it was magical. Dammit.

I couldn’t let the ever-so-cute standing ovation from George be in vain, so I plugged in my Allen & Heath and set out to recreate the mix as best I could. It’ll never be the same as playing it in the moment, though I did try to match the drops and exits as close to how I played them at the club. I only wish I would have had a Rane MP2015 to play on to match the sound of the club as well. 4-band eq and rotary faders tend to make a girl mix a bit different. I really need to work out how to record within Serato so I don’t lose out on another one of these had-to-be-there moments.

As all the mixes posted to this blog and “Audio” social media, there are multiple ways to listen including the pop-out player at the bottom of the screen.
